Who are you, and what is your job title at Collectif ?
My name's Siobhan, and I'm Marketing Manager and Accessories Buyer at Collectif.
Tell us more about Collectif! When did you open and what's changed since then?
The brand started in the year 2000, and more or less everything has changed since then! We began as a market stall in Camden Stables Market selling alternative clothing, and now we have two brands that both release seasonal collections bi-annually! We've grown in size in a huge way, and we now have over 50 members of staff worldwide. This year, we even managed to win the Drapers Independent Award for Best Niche Fashion Retailer of the Year, so you could say that we've come a long way.
What did you do before you were at Collectif?
I actually used to work in film for a while, mainly working in Special Effects and Costume. Before this I'd just graduated uni, where I studied Technical Arts and Special Effects for Screen.
What's the best part about your job?
The fact that I work with a lot of likeminded people who are great friends as well as colleagues.
What is your favorite thing to eat for lunch?
If we're talking on a Sunday, it has to be a full on roast dinner with all of the trimmings. Rest of the time? Nothing beats a nice big bowl of chunky soup with a crusty roll.
What is the most important appliance in your home?
Has to be a mix of my MacBook or the 3DTV. Maybe both.
Do you have any irrational fears?
Cotton wool freaks me out in a big way- especially when it's rubbed together. Foil too, when it's compacted together. The sound of polystyrene. I could go on.
Do you like Sci-Fi movies?
In short, YES.
What's your favorite?
Has to be Alien if you're going for old school classic. Hands down. Though the new Star Treks are pretty good, as is Interstellar. I'm more of a Fantasy geek, though!
Have you ever ridden a camel?
Can't say that I have!
What are you most excited about in the coming months? (Feel free to answer for yourself or for Collectif )
For Collectif? We're in the process of opening a brand new store in Camden, so we can't wait to get that open. For me? CHRISTMAS! And er... Hobbitcon in April.
