MEET THE MODEL : AMELIA

MEET THE MODEL : AMELIA

Okay ghouls, We are super excited to start this new series we've got brewing up! Meet The... which will feature both our team members and models! It will give you a chance to get to know our staff and models better on a personal level! Dive deep into their interests, personal style, and where they come from!

Enough introduction! Let's get to the real star of the show! Amelia! Amelia is our most recent model, who did an absolute killer job at showcasing items like the Slip Away dresses and our Polo Skater Dresses! She came on set filled with energy, excitement and an eagerness that inspired us all!

Tell us about you, where are you from? Your Hobbies?

My names Amelia, and I’m from the Jersey Shore(Yes, that jersey shore!!!) I love to bake, play dress up, watch movies, ride mini bikes, rollerskate, draw, and play video games!!

How did you discover Sourpuss?

I discovered Sourpuss when I was in middle school, and it was love at first sight!! I always had a love for 50s/pinup fashion and admired it from afar, so seeing it combined with the alternative elements I also loved to dress myself in was the catalyst to me finding my style today!

What inspires you / What gets your creative ideas flowing?

I love vintage fashion. I could seriously write a love letter to each respective decade and its style. But there’s nothing like adding in a modern twist to all of that and bending the rules a bit!!! I love to see people in fashion push the envelope, and that’s why Sourpuss inspires me so much!

What are your top 3 Sourpuss items?

I can’t live without my white Sourpuss Kewpie doll bag, my Jaguar dress, or my big stompy boots!!!

How would you describe your personal style? Who are your fashion muses?

When I get dressed up, I would describe my personal style as “Bridgit Bardot goes to CBGBs”. I love mini skirts, thigh high boots, chunky sunglasses, messy updos, and leather!!! I would definitely pin her as one of my fashion muses along with Avril Lavigne and Marilyn Monroe. When I’m not in dress up clothes, you can find me in some baggy cargo pants, chunky platforms, and a graphic tee!!

Is modeling your full time gig? If not, what is your profession?

Modeling is not my full time gig (yet!) When I’m not strutting my stuff, I work in an office and I also do freelance art.

Advice for a future Sourpuss model?

My advice to a future Sourpuss model would be to put yourself out there!! If you believe you can do something, you’re already halfway there. Don’t be afraid to be exactly who you are, and the rest will follow.

I love this new “Meet the Models” segment! I hope to see more of Amelia in the future and I can’t wait to read up on the other models as well! Love her positive vibe! Nothing like a confident young woman being true to herself! Her message is an inspiration to my younger daughter who strives to remain unique in a world that can be conforming at times!
