I always go into my boyfriend's closet to steal his button downs to wear with my v-neck sweaters. My biggest issue with men's button downs is the trim-fit men's shirt tapers in so much that it never fits right on my womanly hips.
Well Brutus released their bold plaid shirts in a women's cut that is pretty amazing! I normally wear an XL in most tops but I had to order a size up in the Brutus but that did not bother me. I know I have a large bust and sometimes tops are hard to gauge the size when the fabrics are not stretchy. So if you have a larger chest order a size larger than you normally would, you will thank me later!
Available in 3 color choices currently, including red plaid and yellow and black plaid, each one comes with a pocket square handkerchief that you can choose to wear with it or set it aside like I did. I normally layer my button downs under a Fred Perry sweater or really any v-neck sweater but I love the bold plaid so much that I have been wearing it paired with a Levis denim jacket I got for Christmas.
These women's tops are made of a poly cotton blend that is made to not wrinkle! I really love the material for washing it does not really shrink when washed in cold water and it did not require ironing before my next wear. The short sleeves feature a v cut out notch with a decorative button. The back has a hang loop and perfectly sew darting that creates a waist and a feminine silhouette.
